Die Bed Bug Foundation CIC (12231220) ist eine nicht-gewinnorientierte Organisation, die es sich zum Ziel gesetzt hat, die Standards bei der Erkennung und Behandlung von Bettwanzen zu erh\u00f6hen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die BBF wurde 2010 von Oliver Madge, dem ehemaligen Leiter der British Pest Control Association, gegr\u00fcndet. Obwohl urspr\u00fcnglich als Wohlt\u00e4tigkeitsorganisation registriert, ist die BBF nun ein Sozialunternehmen, das gegr\u00fcndet wurde, um die Sch\u00e4dlingsbek\u00e4mpfungs- und Bettwanzensp\u00fcrhunde-Branche bei ihrem Management von Bettwanzen zu unterst\u00fctzen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Richard Naylor, ein Entomologe, der sich auf die Biologie und das Verhalten von Bettwanzen spezialisiert hat, trat der BBF im Jahr 2011 als Treuh\u00e4nder bei. Richard war der Hauptautor der Version 2 des Europ\u00e4ischen Verhaltenskodex f\u00fcr Bettwanzenmanagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Larry Hansen, ein sehr erfahrener Hundetrainer vom Frankfurter Flughafen, trat der BBF bei und wurde 2017 Kuratoriumsmitglied. Larry arbeitete mit der BBF zusammen, um ein Programm zur Zertifizierung von Bettwanzen-Sp\u00fcrhunden in Europa zu etablieren. Ziel war es, etwas anzubieten, das dem Zertifizierungsprogramm der NESDCA in den USA gleichwertig ist und damit den Sp\u00fcrhundeteams in ganz Europa eine j\u00e4hrliche Pr\u00fcfung nach einem allgemein anerkannten Standard erm\u00f6glicht, ohne dass die Kosten f\u00fcr eine Reise in die USA anfallen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Larrys Arbeitgeber, die Fraport AG (Flughafen Frankfurt), unterst\u00fctzte die BBF bei der Etablierung dieses Programms, indem sie administrative Unterst\u00fctzung leistete und Larrys Zeit und Reisekosten f\u00fcr die ersten zwei Jahre \u00fcbernahm. W\u00e4hrend dieser Zeit fungierte Fraport als Vermittler, der im Namen der BBF Zertifizierungen ausstellte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Gesch\u00e4ftsbeziehung der BBF mit Fraport endete 2019, als Fraport seine Sp\u00fcrhunde-Abteilung schloss. Die BBF betreibt das Zertifizierungsprogramm nun eigenst\u00e4ndig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die BBF wird von einem Vorstand geleitet. Derzeit gibt es vier Direktoren: Richard Naylor (UK), Larry Hansen (DE), Patric Corpataux (CH) und Stefan Hedin (SE). Die Rollen und Verantwortlichkeiten der Direktoren sind auf der Seite mit den Allgemeinen Gesch\u00e4ftsbedingungen<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
