Bettwanzen sind echte Wanzen (Ordnung: Hemiptera), die zur Familie der Cimicidae geh\u00f6ren. Wie alle anderen Mitglieder dieser Familie ern\u00e4hren sie sich ausschlie\u00dflich von Blut und ben\u00f6tigen eine Mahlzeit von einem der Wirbeltier-Wirte, um sich zwischen den Instanzen (Lebensstadien) zu entwickeln und sich zu vermehren.<\/p>\n

\"Lebensweise<\/a><\/p>\n

Entwicklungszeit<\/strong><\/p>\n

Die Entwicklungszeit wird stark von der Temperatur beeinflusst. Unter 13\u00b0C wird die Entwicklung eingestellt, die Weibchen legen nicht mehr und die abgelegten Eier schl\u00fcpfen nicht. \u00dcber 36\u00b0C f\u00fchrt die Sch\u00e4digung der bakteriellen Symbionten, die bei der Synthese von Mikron\u00e4hrstoffen helfen, zu einer verminderten Fruchtbarkeit und \u00dcberlebensf\u00e4higkeit. Zwischen diesen beiden Extremen nimmt die Entwicklungszeit mit steigender Temperatur ab (siehe unten).<\/p>\n

Reproduktionsrate<\/strong><\/p>\n

Weibliche Bettwanzen m\u00fcssen sich mindestens einmal alle 5 - 6 Wochen paaren, um ihre volle Fruchtbarkeit zu erhalten, obwohl die nat\u00fcrlichen Paarungsraten vermutlich sehr viel h\u00f6her sind.<\/p>\n

Die Anzahl der Eier, die ein Weibchen pro Woche legt, wird stark von der Temperatur und den individuellen Schwankungen beeinflusst. In einem warmen Raum kann man davon ausgehen, dass ein einzelnes Weibchen 15 - 25 Eier pro Woche und bis zu 500 Eier in ihrem Leben legt, solange es st\u00e4ndigen Zugang zu Nahrung hat und regelm\u00e4\u00dfig gedeckt wird.<\/p>\n
