Bed Bug Foundation CIC (12231220) es una fundaci\u00f3n sin fines de lucro, dedicada a elevar los est\u00e1ndares en la detecci\u00f3n y el manejo de los chinches de cama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La BBF fue fundada en 2010 por Oliver Madge, ex jefe de la Asociaci\u00f3n Brit\u00e1nica de Control de Plagas. Aunque inicialmente registrada como una organizaci\u00f3n ben\u00e9fica, la BBF es ahora una Empresa Social, creada para apoyar a las industrias de control de plagas y de detecci\u00f3n de olores caninos en su manejo de chinches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El Dr. Richard Naylor, un entom\u00f3logo especializado en la biolog\u00eda y comportamiento de los chinches, se uni\u00f3 a la BBF como administrador en 2011. Richard fue el autor principal de la versi\u00f3n 2 del C\u00f3digo Europeo de Pr\u00e1cticas para el Manejo de Chinches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Larry Hansen, un entrenador de perros con gran experiencia en el aeropuerto de Fr\u00e1ncfort, se uni\u00f3 a BBF y se convirti\u00f3 en patrono en 2017. Larry trabaj\u00f3 con la BBF para establecer un programa de certificaci\u00f3n de perros detectores de chinches en Europa. El objetivo era ofrecer algo equivalente al programa de certificaci\u00f3n ofrecido por la NESDCA en los Estados Unidos, permitiendo as\u00ed a los equipos de detecci\u00f3n de olores de toda Europa llevar a cabo una evaluaci\u00f3n anual, con un est\u00e1ndar ampliamente acordado, sin el gasto de viajar a los Estados Unidos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El empleador de Larry, Fraport AG (Aeropuerto de Frankfurt), ayud\u00f3 a la BBF a establecer este programa, proporcionando apoyo administrativo y cubriendo el tiempo y los gastos de viaje de Larry durante los dos primeros a\u00f1os. Durante este tiempo Fraport actu\u00f3 como agente, emitiendo certificaciones en nombre de la BBF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La relaci\u00f3n de la BBF con Fraport termin\u00f3 en 2019, cuando Fraport cerr\u00f3 su departamento canino. La BBF ahora dirige el programa de certificaci\u00f3n de forma independiente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La BBF est\u00e1 dirigida por un consejo de administraci\u00f3n. Actualmente hay cuatro directores: Richard Naylor (UK), Larry Hansen (DE), Patric Corpataux (CH) y Stefan Hedin (SE).
